These scenarios demonstrate methods. The numbers and scenes are illustrative, not documented customer projects, current prices or verified material results.

Hypothetical delivery: two different conditions

Bundles A and B arrive together. A has intact wrapping; B has a torn corner and visibly wetted boards beneath it. The receiver creates separate records, photographs B's corner, and labels every sampled board by bundle. The report says that B's interior was inaccessible. It does not describe the whole delivery as dry or assign a recovery period.

Hypothetical sampling map with a visible gap

A crew records four identified boards on the accessible side of bundle C. The opposite side and interior remain blocked by other material. Their worksheet shows four boards observed and explicitly marks the unobserved areas. At the next handling stage they add newly accessible positions as new observations, while retaining the original four for a matched comparison.

Hypothetical disagreement between methods

An owner has a pinless observation from a board face and a pin observation from another position. The numbers differ. Instead of choosing the preferred number, the record lists the two models, settings, positions, and modes. The owner consults their manuals and arranges a comparable follow-up. Neither initial result is labeled a whole-board average.
